The project manager stores all references to material being used in a VISUALCONNX project – Projects can have Forms and any windows-viewable additional material, such as HTML, Text, DOC, PDF etc.
Forms are used to create user interface “windows” and are created by dragging controls onto the form and placing them in a suitable position to make the use of the form obvious.
To attach data to the controls on a form the data is “dragged” from the data connection window to the control in question.
Controls or Widgets
A wide range of controls can be dragged onto your form and these can all be reformatted and resized to your personal preference.
These controls can then be customized in many ways such as 3D or flat, border/no border, minimum and maximum values, speed of update, foreground/background colours, line widths.
3rd party specialist controls can easily be added to the available set
using active-X support.
Toolboxes contain icons for the various type of controls that may be placed on a form.
Some of the available controls are..
Labels - Textboxes - Buttons - Check boxes - Radio buttons - Sliders - Shapes - Progress & Percentage bars - Knobs - Switches - Pictures - Simple frames - Simple gauges - Functional web Browser with the ability to display many file formats such as text, HTML, Flash, MOV
The property toolbox allows any control on the form to be adjusted.
Further enhancements to your user interface forms may be made by creating scripts to allow real-time changing of data or evaluation of signals and parameters.
The scripting is based on the Microsoft Scripting Technologies and can use VBScript, Jscript and Python Scripting languages.
