add2 has shipped the first of a new and innovative range of products designed to speed up and improve the level of testing that can be performed on lab-car or test-board ‘plywood buck’ setups.
Aimed at vehicle manufacturers and tier one suppliers involved in system and vehicle test programs, the systems allow users to simulate key parts of an engine, bringing together software technology and add2’s new range of intelligent I/O modules to create engine crank, CAM and wheel-speed signals.
By simulating key parts of the vehicle that are required to be present for driver-based testing scenarios, this new range can dramatically improve the scope of testing and bring forward detection of functionality errors.
Dynamic Test Board simulators will become known as DTB Simulators, and are not a replacement to Hardware-in-the-loop test systems (HIL), but will offer another cost-effective tool for vehicle testing programs.
