Fault Testing
When testing for faults on ECUs and vehicle harnesses there are common failure modes which must be tested for to ensure the safety and integrity of the vehicle.
The Fault Injection and Breakout Board (FIBB) has been designed specifically to meet the needs of these tests
Key Features:
· Modular, expandable
· Compact
· Low to High Currents
· Software controllable
· Flexible interfacing
· Self Test
Fault Modes
The standard fault modes supported by the FIBB cards are..
· S/C to GND
· S/C to Batt
· Open Circuit
· S/C any channel
Combinations of these modes may also be used. |

FIBB Software
By using the Genix Configuration Utility (GCU) it is possible to apply these faults to the system under test in one of many different ways.
Manual Testing
The GCU allows manual interaction of the FIBB hardware to run through a sequence of tests
Scripting
Scripting using the GCU is also possible allowing the use of VB and Python to create tests using fault scripts whilst looking at system behaviour.
Real-Time Connection
If using a real-time target simulator, such as Genix Target it is possible to connect the FIBB hardware via a data bus to allow any I/O board to control the FIBB system. |
