CAN switch card with fault insertion
This CAN switching card is an 8-channel configurable low, medium or high-speed CAN switch board with fault insertion capabilities.
The CANSWF can route each of the 8 ECM CAN channels (CH0..7) at the front of the pod to 1 of 4 CAN buses (CAN A..D) applied to the rear of the board, and also perform fault insertion on each ECM CAN channel. The CAN channels may be controlled from the PC configuration software, the configuration CAN bus, or external HIL I/O lines.
In configuration CAN control mode, all control of CAN routing and termination is available via CAN messaging, along with additional status and diagnostics information, such as overload. Switched 120Ω CAN termination for each of the four CAN buses is also available. Short CANH to CANL is also possible as part of the fault insertion capability.
The boards are also fully short and overload protected.
